The Lake

The Lake

Located at the end of a long tree-lined drive, our beautiful carp fishing lake is surrounded by oak, elm and pine trees.  The location is so quiet and secluded that only the vast bird life will be heard.

The lake was formed in 1932 when it was a stone quarry and filled up in 1971 to create the stunning lake we have today.

The lake depths vary from 1.5 m on the shallows to 11m deep with plateaus, marginal shelves, deep gully and channels.  Marginal depths are a real challenge for the thinking angler, and fish do feed and are seen over the entire lake.  The challenge is to catch them!

The lake bottom is clean stone with patches of small silt.
